Odelouca’s Dam is a zoned earth fill dam with clay core, built in Odelouca’s river, upstream of the Monchique’s river confluence, with a lagoon occupying a total area of 7,8 km2 and useful water storage capacity of 134 hm3, for drinking water supply.

- Dam’s maximum height: 76 m;
- Crest length of 415 m, and crest width: 11 m;
- Landfill: 2.300.000 m³;
- Temporary bypass tunnel, dia. 8m and 430m long;
- Three levels water intake;
- Foundation inspection and Injection concrete gallery about 330m long
- Controlled Spillway 160m long, including excavation work of 110.000m³ and concrete work of 32.000 m³, designed for a flooding discharge of 1.513 m³/sec;
- Hydro-mechanical and electro-mechanical equipment;
- Electrical and mechanical installations;
- Odelouca and Monchique bridges, access roads and protection of existing road and railway infrastructures;
