Development and Regenerating project of the Heysel Plateau
The City of Brussels awarded the public contract for the redevelopment of the Heysel plateau to the Group Unibail-Rodamco/CFE/Besix. The first part, which will become an attractive location for the capital, will develop a new active living quarter with housing facilities, shops and green spaces for a private investment of 800 million of euros. This first phase will comprise:
- a shopping mall « Mall of Europe » :
- 230 shops (81.000 m² of commercial activities),
- 30 restaurants,
- The largest movie theatre in Belgium, Kinepolis (21 fully digital rooms with a total of 4,000 chairs)
- 590 housing facilities
- two nurseries,
- 3.500 m² offices,
- rest home,
- landscaped park of 3,5 hectares built under the shops,
- discovery garden,
- space dedicated to the art,
- 3.700 underground parking places
- the first indoor « Spirouland » in the heart of a leisure zone of 15.000 m².
