Located in the city center of Rabat, the Museum of Contemporary Art is part of the government program aimed at developing the cultural infrastructures in Morocco. The space aims to cover the evolution of national and international artistic creativity in the visual and plastic arts, to promote Moroccan art to a wider audience and to preserve this heritage for future generations.

Located on the corner of Avenue Moulay El Hassan and Avenue Allal Ben Abdallah, on a plot of land of 6,813 square metres, the three-level building under construction has a covered surface area of 10,270 square metres. The basement level houses:

  • The auditorium and auditorium hall,
  • The museum workshop and logistics services,
  • The depository and storage areas,
  • The shops,
  • The changing rooms and toilets,
  • The covered parking for 60 cars,
  • The technical premises.

The ground floor houses:

  • The main hall
  • The temporary exhibitions,
  • The art library,
  • The education department,
  • The VIP room,
  • The Restaurant and kitchen,
  • The safety and first-aid station,
  • The technical premises, storage areas and toilets.

The first floor houses:

  • The permanent exhibitions and other museum rooms,
  • The multimedia library,
  • The administrative services,
  • The technical premises, storage areas and toilets.
