The Izmir Health Campus will cover a floor area of 574,000 m² and will serve the hospital needs of the cities of the Izmir region, with a population of 3.4 million people.

The Campus provides healthcare services to a population of about 3 million citizens.

It has a capacity of 2,060 beds and comprises three main buildings:

Main Hospital: this facility comprises a 715 bed General Hospital, a 380 bed Cardiovascular Diseases Hospital, a 141 bed Oncology Hospital and a 424 bed Woman’s and Children’s Hospital.
Forensic Medicine Hospital: 100 bed high-security Forensic Psychiatric Hospital (it is housed in an independent building).
Rehabilitation Hospital: 300 bed Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Hospital (it is housed in an independent building).

The buildings have been designed with a base isolation system featuring 1,780 isolation devices that allow for the reduction of seismic vulnerability, and a reinforced concrete structure.

The systems have the following characteristics:

  • Power demand: 37,500 kW
  • Electric generating sets: 9 x 2.800 kVAs
  • Installed cooling power: 24,400 kW
  • Installed heating power: 11,200 kW
